When teeth are buried or impacted, oral or maxillofacial surgery is required. To assess if surgical intervention is required the maxillofacial surgeon will evaluate what treatment is needed.

The Clinic has a fully equipped theatre, approved by the local health authority, designed for maxillofacial procedures. Apart from impacted teeth, the maxillofacial surgeon will undertake treatment on cysts, bone fractures and the invasive procedures for surgical orthodontics, and placement of dental implants.

Non-impacted can be removed by the dentist using local anaesthetic; alternatively nervous patients can have the procedure carried out under intravenous sedation.
